<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Home!</td></tr>

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
While we are living in our new home we are renovating it...sounds fun right? Makes you think of all of those HGTV shows that you've seen and thought I could TOTALLY renovate a house and it would be SO much fun...well, it's not like that!! We forget that everything on tv looks so much better than what it does in real life...well I did at least. I kept envisioning Sabrina Soto coming in to make my house look like a million bucks for less (The Hi/Lo Project) or seeing Josh Temple (House Crashers) during one of our many Lowe's trips, and he would come in and totally update our kitchen and make it look freakin amazing!!! </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This, unfortunately, did not happen...what has happened has been a lot of sweat, some blood, and painting!! Before I show you the pictures of the progress from what our house looked like and what it looks like now let me tell you that this house had more holes in the walls than a dart board!! The walls were also extremely dirty...like dirtier than I have ever seen. And we all know that I like things clean so this needed to be fixed asap!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
We were so proud of how the laundry room looked...until we looked up.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The last person who painted this house did not cut in, it's where you take a brush and outline the edges so you don't have to take a roller all the way to the edge, and hit the ceiling with the roller...great. Because the old paint job was a beigeish brown the ceiling looked dirty against our nice grey painted walls..awesome. So we went from our time line of painting all the walls to adding in painting the ceiling...ugh. That was an adventure...</div>

After attempting to paint the ceilings...which we did all 3 bedrooms and the laundry room...we decided we needed to get a professional in here to do it. It was just ridiculous...I mean a great trap/arm workout, but good grief! In the mean time, we finished painting ALL the bedrooms because we were getting carpet the next day...yes, I painted all day while Freddie was at work and when he came home we had dinner and then stayed up until 430 AM to finish painting...I've always known I was a procrastinator but dang! That one killed me...</div>

So, once we decided to get someone to paint the ceilings it gave us an opportunity to tackle the kitchen...we're getting a new kitchen, I didn't tell you?! Yep, we got some sweet hickory cabinets, on sale of course, from Home Depot and some new appliances that are on there way here. So we needed to pull the old ones down...ugh. It didn't take long, but gross! These people were nasty!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
So, whoever lived here before us did NOT clean!! When we pulled out the stove what we found is in the pictures above...there was grease everywhere, a drumstick, the letter's J and Q, a receipt, pasta, m&m's and other stuff that was too gross to list. That was fun to clean up... If people would just clean up after a spill or something happens stuff like this wouldn't happen! It's not hard, just pull the stove out and wipe it up!! Sorry, that's not directed at y'all, but more for the person that lived here before me...in case they run across this blog :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In a nut shell that's what has been going on...we're continuing work on the rooms, and by work I mean painting...we should have cabinets installed by tomorrow morning and the countertop guy is coming on Friday!! Hopefully we'll have appliances by tomorrow too!! I sure would love to be able to cook again...remind me that I'm saying this when there comes a time when I don't want to cook...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'll try to keep the updates regular so I'm not bombarding you with pictures...and the longest post ever!! Have a wonderful Wednesday y'all!!</div>

Many, many things have happened since my time apart from Life with Kight...The biggest of all is that WE MOVED...well sort of...we're still in the process of moving. The reason for our only somewhat move is that we do not have a house to live in yet. To save you all from a very long story of why we don't have a house to move in to yet, I'll give you the short and sweet (well, kind of bitter) story...I'd call up a rental, everything would be all good until they asked about pets. I'd tell them yes, we have 2 dogs...<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">These cutie batooties</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />they'd ask what breeds...I'd tell them a Lab and Rottie...their immediate response was, "oh, well you have a vicious dog, so no...sorry." WHAT!? My dog is NOT nor has he EVER been vicious...needless to say we're buying a house. I know, I know...it's a good thing though. Well it will be once all of the craziness is over...I never imagined that a foreclosure would be such a pain in the butt!! I don't think I've ever had to be on the phone so much with so many different people so many different times...I am continually making sure that these people are keeping their word and getting this stuff done in a timely manner because it's going to cost ME money if they don't!! Lame...<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I will post pics of the new casa once it is officially ours...I'm very hopeful about this new assignment...Freddie has already been working over there and LOVES it!! This makes my heart happy...he deserves it...no more RQS bs to deal with!! As for me...well I'm still looking for the perfect full time job that will suite me, but for now I'm very happy being a traveling children's coordinator. In fact, I'm in San Antonio as I type this...and I get to see a bestie this weekend!! It's going to be wonderful to see a dear friend, along with snuggle her girlies!! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well folks, have a wonderful Thursday evening...until we meet again...<br /><br /></div>

I remember the day we went to pick him...we walked in and there were so many yellow lab puppies running around, and Freddie grabbed Guns. He handed him to me and said, "what do you think about this one?" I held onto him...he sat in my arms calm as could be because he knew he had found his mom :) Let's backtrack a bit... we found an ad in the paper for lab puppies, but it was right before Christmas. My family was coming up to visit and I didn't know how they would do with 2 dogs in the house...we contemplated picking him out, leaving him there and picking him up after Christmas...but I told Freddie the only way we would be able to do that is if he had some mark on him that would make him different from the other pups so that we would know he's ours! Well we decided against leaving him, and took him home...while driving home with this precious guy I noticed that he has a little black dot/birthmark on his back right foot...that's when I really knew he was meant for us! Time went on and he grew...</div>

He is now 4...and loves to play frisbee! He loves to play with his brother and run until he can't run anymore. He is still working on his howling, but gets better with every try. He loves people, especially all of his aunt's that give him all the love he wants! He's learned how to speak now too! Although he drives me nuts at times wanting to go out and play frisbee every 30 minutes, I don't know what I would do without those times together. Happy Birthday Guns! I love you pup!</div>

Now this makes 8 years total of us being together...but what a wonderful day it was...We toured DC, and did a little bit of shopping (because that ALWAYS makes me happy!)...then he took me on a romantic dinner date to Fogo De Chao...it's an amazing Brazilian restaurant that he took me to when we first started dating and we hadn't been since...Of course I wanted him to show off his amazing Portuguese speaking skills...and thanks to a little vino I got the guts to say a few words in Portuguese to the waiter...I was SO proud of myself because anyone who knows me knows that I turn red the moment I start talking to someone I don't really know...it's just this weird thing that happens to me...annoying too!</div>

The story goes that you buy a lock with your loved one, find a place on the bridge to lock it onto, and then throw your keys into the Rhine signifying that you'll love each other forever! So Freddie and I bought our lock before we left and decorated it, knowing that maybe on our 10 year anniversary we would go back and find our lock. </div>

For the past few weeks/months Freddie and I have been planning a trip...a trip that will best all trips! We never went on a honeymoon after our wedding, something that seems to happen to many military couples...so, we promised ourselves that for our 5 year anniversary we would take an amazing trip! That trip was supposed to be to Greece, but thanks to Greece being broke and all of the people going a little bonkers the trip has been postponed until further notice...So, where to go for this amazing anniversary/postponed honeymoon trip?? GERMANY AND ITALY!!! We are going for 11 days, and plan on visiting amazing places! I can't even begin to describe how excited I am...in fact, I'm so excited that I kind of somewhat don't really feel like we're going...weird? Another thing that I'm excited for...well there's a couple of more things...is that I'm graduating right before we leave for this awesome trip! AND we are also celebrating our FIVE year anniversary, AND father's day! Whew...That's a lot of celebrating, but I think I'm up for the task :) We leave next week to go to DC so I can finally walk across that stage and complete my college journey...for now ;) I've done a little bit of shopping to get ready for all of these fantastic occasions, but plan on doing a TON of shopping in Italy mostly. We're going to Milan...the shopping mecca!! Can't tell you how pumped I am about that, and just going overseas in general...I'm finally getting to use my passport...ok, I need to calm down...I'm ready to go.like.now! I promise to post lots of pictures when I get back of all these fandabbydozy occasions...But for now, I'm off to make some baby presents for all my mama friends! Have a fabulous month of June, because I most likely won't post again until July!!! Ekk! :D </div>Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-82827255274255274722012-04-30T22:08:00.000-04:002012-04-30T22:10:26.775-04:00The fun that is workSo I am working...YAY! I work once, maybe twice a month...crazy right? I work for Planning Professionals Ltd. (shameless plug :D) It's a great company that plans meetings for corporations, and right now for the Yellow Ribbon Program. It's a program that helps Air Force Reserve families when it is time for the service member to deploy...They get to come to the event and learn so much information...stuff that I didn't even know about being an active duty spouse myself, so it's been beneficial for me in more ways than one...<br />
<br />
This last event that I worked at was in Orlando...at an A-MAZING hotel...The Peabody!! It was so stinkin pretty, and they're obsessed with ducks there...so there were a lot of duck jokes floating around (no pun intended :D ) I got to meet some crazy folks, on the way to the event, and at the event...First there was Paula, from New York (think of it in your best New York accent)...she adopted me on the plane she liked me so much...I think it was the fact that I offered her an apple slice (because of the way she was staring at them) and then proceeded to tell me that she would love to, but left her glue for her teeth at home!! Therefore her teeth couldn't handle the apples...WONDERFUL! She was a hoot! Then I had a great time with some of the Yellow Ribbon folks themselves...hilarious people that are trying to make things better for those in need...Oh and I might add that I got to work with my 2nd mom, and Court! Super fun gals that made me laugh majority of the time I was there...<br />
<br />
I've got to say that I'm loving this job a bit...Now I just need to find something to do with my time during the week and I'll be set...This is the perfect job because I get to travel, work with military folks, and work with kids! Seems like a win-win to me...especially because of all the personal travel trips that I have planned for this year...More on those later :)<br />
<br />
Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday!Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-2908237653389819812012-04-16T21:06:00.002-04:002012-04-16T21:06:52.559-04:00Paintball<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My dad is not only pretty much the sponsor of this paintball team, but an honorary player. He got a cool jersey to wear and everything...I made my own shirt for the occasion and was dubbed a coach (something I do not take lightly). I have a nice raspy voice to prove it!</div>

We went to watch NTX play at the national paintball tournament...they were amazing!</div>

I am always extremely impressed by the amount of speed, agility and ground maneuver tactics that make up this sport. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They made it to Sunday, which is a big deal...at that point they were 19 out of 46 teams. They did not make it all the way to finals, but they were still amazing. Not sure what place they actually came in, but cheesy as this is about to sound...they're NUMBER ONE to me :D</div>

We went to MN to surprise Freddie's parents and that was very successful! His mom could not believe her eyes, but was SUPER happy to see her little Fraddie-cat...It was fun to spend some time in colder weather, although I missed the snow once again! Why is that I like the snow, but it does not seem to like me!? It snowed the whole week before we got there, and then did not snow a lick while we were there! INSANE! So after spending some much needed time with the in-laws, we said our see ya laters (not a big fan of goodbye's) and boarded a plane to TX! Got to see my now 25 year old baby brother! And spend time with the fam...love it.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Happy Birthday Brother!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
He had a GREAT birthday and said that he doesn't feel 25...I hear ya brother...I still think I'm like 23, and act like I'm 12! haha...there were many jokes thrown around...the hubs got to meet my brother's better half i.e. Heather! Good food and good cake were had by all! After 2 fast days in TX it was time to say our see ya later's again, and head back to the dirty south! We had some lunch with my mom before driving an hour to get our precious boys and then headed back to GA! We made it just in time for Freddie to get us a seat at BWW's to watch the Pats lose in the Super Bowl!! All in all it was a very good trip...there were just a few glitches...we finally got Freddie's wedding band thing situated after FOUR months of dealing with morons! I was just so happy to finally deal with some people that still know what customer service is...does anyone else have that problem? I don't know if it is just because I have worked at Nordstrom where they stress customer service, but I feel like there are so many companies now that customer service has become a thing of the past! All of there slogans should be, "once you buy our crap it's not our problem if something happens to it!" Freddie bought me a Louis Vuitton for my graduation present...super excited about the purse...didn't use it when I first got it because I didn't want to take it out of the bag because it was just so pretty, but I decided to take it home to show off what graduating from college gets ya...after 4 days of using my pretty new purse I looked at the bottom of the backside and my blue jean color had transferred onto the purse!!!! I wanted to cry and throw up all at the same time! I couldn't believe that this happened...so thinking that LV would totally take care of everything because of the quality of bags, we called their customer service...she told us to try and wipe it off with a damp washcloth, and if that didn't work take it to a store and they would be able to fix it...great. We took it to a store and do you know what they told us!? Not their problem...it's the jeans fault...there's nothing they can do!!!!!!!! ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME!? I haven't been that disappointed in a long time...can't believe that something that expensive would just be ruined like that and that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING the company can do!? Needless to say...I will no longer be a LV customer. I will only buy my stuff from stores that I know have good customer service and want to keep their customers...Never again will I purchase something without asking about the customer service policy first, and if they tell me in a round about way that "once you buy it it's not our problem" I'll put the stuff down and leave!! It's sad that people don't care to help people anymore...I know there are still people and stores out there that will, but it seems to me that there are so many more that won't... Enough of my rant about customer service...and onto one about how frustrating it is looking for a job in a small military town! I have a degree...I think jobs should just float into my realm and allow me to pick from them :) wishful thinking I know. So I will continue to look, and even go place to place (yep, the old fashioned way) to find what I want! As for now, I will continue looking for a job and start sewing again. It's time...I've had a long enough break and I have way too many friends that are having tiny humans to not start sewing again...I need to get to making their presents!! Wooo Hooo!! Bet y'all can't wait!! I'm off for now and will write again soon! Happy Tuesday!Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-44767638039223621292012-01-19T15:49:00.000-05:002012-01-19T15:49:11.474-05:00Work out's make my body go AH!So after months of being away from the gym, and attempting to workout at my dad's (but was unsuccessful due to pulling the boys instead of them running with me, ugh!) I started working out again at the gym! I realize that I do not need a gym to workout at...that I have the great outdoors a few steps outside my front door, but it's not fun to workout outside in GA...not fun at all. It's not bad right now because it feels more like spring than winter, and no I'm not complaining...but the summers are brutal! There are more gnats than any other living thing in GA, and the mosquitos have about a million meals a day when a person is outside...so this is why I prefer the gym. Might I just add I am in pain today! But I love it...I know what you're thinking, masochist...but there's just something about knowing that you worked your muscles so well that they are aching...but it's because they needed to be worked, and they are loving that you have found your way back to the gym as well...so, I'm sorry muscles, bones and tendons for not working you the way I should have been...I will try not to let it happen again! Besides, Freddie can't be the only one with a rockin bod!! I gotta work on my fitness!! Happy Thursday everyone...and I hope you can get out and work your muscles too!!Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-61159818066568879882012-01-13T13:42:00.001-05:002012-01-13T13:47:01.913-05:002012 and Freddie!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
It's a whole new year!! It's somewhat odd because everyone around keeps saying the same thing...that 2012 is going to be one of the best years yet! SWEET! I love best years... I think it really is though...I've started the year out as a college graduate! Can you believe it?! I know, me either ;) It is still somewhat hard for me to grasp because I have yet to receive that special piece of paper that I worked tirelessly for, but when it comes it is getting its own special frame and will be hung for everyone to see...maybe I'll even paint arrows all around it so no one misses it when they come in my house :) Another great way that this year has started is that FREDDIE CAME HOME!! He's home from the land of dirt and turbans... he couldn't be happier, and neither can I!<br />

So he got home the day before his birthday!! Lucky me!! And lucky him...he got to have Christmas the day he got home and opened lots of fun presents that included a Cowboys yard gnome :), truck bed-liner from my parental units, and some new clothes! The next day he turned 28!! He doesn't seem that old to me...I feel like just yesterday we were celebrating his 21st birthday with his fam, and then going to a movie and drinking some boonze farm in his truck! Hehe the good ole days... Poor thing had to go to work on his birthday, but was not about to tell anyone it was his birthday for reasons of not wanting to be taped upside down to something and be made forced to drink unspeakable amounts of liquids or something...So we went to our fav sushi place, had dinner and came home for cake and presents!!<br />

He got some video games also that he is super excited about!! He said he had a great birthday, and he'll get to celebrate again when his fam comes to visit! Happy Birthday to the most wonderful husband a girl could ask for. I love you with all of my heart, and can't imagine my life without you...here's to many many more happy birthdays! I love you! </div>

So as you can see my 2012 has started off great! I hope it continues to be one of the best years yet...12 is my favorite and lucky number, so we'll see...Oh! Happy Friday the 13th y'all...here's hoping this day is more lucky than some like to think! :)</div>Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-993701797624466982011-12-05T13:57:00.001-05:002011-12-05T14:26:30.918-05:00It's been a while :)Hello to all! So sorry, yet again, for my absence from this little blog...Being busy is an understatement at the moment, but isn't that how it is for most people?! To catch everyone up...school is still going, I'm currently taking my last two classes as an undergrad!! It's crazy I know... I was unsure that I would even make it to this point, but now that I have it seems unreal... I got to go to a World Series Game!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTJsdAPRtmthxtiY5OIxhmtuFveB9wTObBqjgcVUCDT1OwZQ_w5GjFJQFGJjOUQ21DbT5x1WwwcVPWtsEBiSPe5Zkmr01k22LruV1vxRka3KtTKmv0PKHWUUH10t-LM5RBgbQezi-GpqQ4/s1600/IMG_0235.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTJsdAPRtmthxtiY5OIxhmtuFveB9wTObBqjgcVUCDT1OwZQ_w5GjFJQFGJjOUQ21DbT5x1WwwcVPWtsEBiSPe5Zkmr01k22LruV1vxRka3KtTKmv0PKHWUUH10t-LM5RBgbQezi-GpqQ4/s320/IMG_0235.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Unfortunately The Rangers lost...It doesn't matter though because it was still a World Series Game!! A few holidays have come and gone since I last posted...Halloween which was spooktastic, and Thanksgiving which was wonderful and filled my belly...all those lbs. that I spent so much time working off with my gym friends have made their way happily back to my midsection, hips and thighs! And that is where they will stay until after the holidays...something about this time of year that makes it virtually impossible to want to workout, and who wants to even think about giving up all the wonderful food that is made this time of year!? So while my husband is 20 lbs. lighter, I will take on the hard task of gaining weight for both of us :) We're going to get our Christmas tree on Saturday, which I'm super pumped about because I love everything about going out to a tree farm, picking the perfect untrimmed tree, and getting it home to decorate! I've been doing plenty of shopping for family and friends, thinking of a million things I would love to make (but know I should have started like last Christmas to have everything done in time) and have been dreaming about the wonderful cakes, cookies and sweets that are bound to come my way in the next few weeks. On a crappier note...my biggest baby...<br />

Has a weird bulbous growth under his right K9 tooth...I noticed and thought well maybe he has a splinter since he likes to chew/eat sticks...but the vet didn't see a stick or seem to think it was something that minor...so I'm taking him to a surgical center on Thursday for them to check it out...the vet said something about melanoma or another type of cancer and I'm hoping and praying that is not the case. I'll update everyone once I know what the real problem is...Though I'm not sure I'll be able to post again until January...when I'm COMPLETELY done with school, and will have so much time on my hands I won't know what to do with...actually I've already started making a list of things to do once I graduate :) Getting a job is on the top of that list...but no need to talk about that now...I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday period with their families, and I'll talk to you all soon!! HAPPY CHRISTMAS! <br /><br />Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-86482228187126368082011-09-13T21:12:00.002-04:002011-09-13T21:13:00.477-04:00Fighting Dogs Bite :/Sorry I have been a little absent lately...lots going on as usual. I am in my second to last semester of school!! It is kind of crazy...I'm taking four classes and am currently in week two of eight...starting in November (which will be here before we know it) I will be in my last semester of undergrad classes...don't worry...I'll let y'all know when that is happening because there will be nothing short of me screaming from the rooftops to let everyone know :)... Lets see...what all has been going on since my last post...Freddie sewed on Staff, and I got to "tack"/punch him in the arm in front of tons of people including the base commander...don't worry I didn't hurt him too bad (I couldn't look like a wimp up there!!). My dad came to visit last weekend which was tons of fun...I got up at 330 AM to pick him up...yes, you read that correctly 330 in the MORNING...we all know how much I love mornings...haha and even better I got pulled over on the way there!! Thankfully the cop said I was very nice and he was thankful I didn't run from him at which point I started laughing and told him that I would NEVER run from a cop! He told me that it was too bad the guy that got pulled over before me didn't feel that way...so a big thanks to the guy who got a ticket before me because I think that saved my butt! But after I picked him up we talked the whole way home, and then hung out over the weekend with the hubs and pups. He left on Sunday which was sad, but we'll see him again soon.<br />
Today:<br />
Black Betty got her new hat today i.e. roof rack. I went to the dentist and found out that my teeth and gums look beautiful...BUT I have a stinkin cavity! I sewed some stuff on Freddie's uniforms. I continued knitting one of my scarfs. We went to see Contagion...wait until it comes out on DVD, or better yet TV. We took the boys for a walk...now here's where it gets interesting. We left for our walk with the boys like we normally do, and took our usual route around the neighborhood...We were within seeing distance of our house when we hear this girl yell ROSCOE!! And around her car comes what looked like a pit mix...now Freddie and I have two large dogs as most of you know, one of which is vicious...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD4kY2iLdeMdqsVbiiGgLC8ZVtsliaqJayj4qAsvvbQoT5i10rROhEP20e_CUBaD4xToUn8t-x7N41VzGXnoA9i3f8DJLfs6NJVkOKsLRiC4vt0w5Fvb29GSfpFB8pUCY-w7bbH6m2KhBj/s1600/IMG_1457.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD4kY2iLdeMdqsVbiiGgLC8ZVtsliaqJayj4qAsvvbQoT5i10rROhEP20e_CUBaD4xToUn8t-x7N41VzGXnoA9i3f8DJLfs6NJVkOKsLRiC4vt0w5Fvb29GSfpFB8pUCY-w7bbH6m2KhBj/s320/IMG_1457.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the vicious pup now.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So he's actually harmless as anyone and everyone knows...but Roscoe comes running around the corner and lunges at Gunner! Now here's the problem...Diesel and Gunner are on the same leash because we have this Y attachment that makes it so they can still move around, but we only have to use one leash...so Gunner gets pissed and growls and both dogs are showing teeth and going at each other...Freddie's pulling the leash and I'm jumping in the middle of these dogs trying to pull Gunner away from this other dog...the other dog backs away for a split second and decides it wants to go after Diesel...well Diesel isn't having any of this so he lunged right back at this other dog...at this point the owner is outside trying to get her dog (who does not have a collar on) away from our boys while Freddie and I are both trying to pull the boys away from her dog...Freddie had some choice words for her and I could see in her face how bad she felt. The boys were ok...they can certainly hold their own, but I on the other hand have a swollen finger and a nice scratch on my foot from one of the dogs...I think I'll send the lady a note...with one of the boys old collars attached to it :) It was a very interesting way to end the night though...so now we're all relaxing at home. The boys are wiped from their brush with a fight and we're just tired because we always are. So off for now, and I'll try to keep y'all more up to date with all of the adventures that go on here. Adios Amigos!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Correction: After writing this post Freddie came in and was petting the boys and noticed that Diesel has a battle wound...he has a little cut on his lip...but he told us that was ok and would do anything to keep his brother safe. Gotta love big brothers :)</div>

My mom is having layer upon layer removed above her eye because she has stage 3 Melanoma. She's been in some pain, but for the most part she's doing well. My dad is here too!! We've just all been hanging out at this sweet doctors office so she can have this junk removed and get better!! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers by the way...I totally know that they're helping...I can see it :).<br />
<br />
On a lighter note...I did get to go to the beach before the rain came with one of my besties Jackie!! Oh how I love and have missed that girl! Even though we're so different we always find something that keeps us together...PB&J's, Honeynut Cherrios, feathers in our hair, long talks...just about anything and everything that makes friends friends :) I got NINE inches cut off my hair and added two feathers!!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">After getting all of my hair chopped off we spent the rest of our time at the beach and shopping. I got some sweet new workout clothes that I plan on using while hanging/working out with my gal Ash, and I've got a sweet little tan to go with it!! Love having a tan...although I am sure to put sunscreen on because I do not want Melanoma by all means...We floated in the water on floaties, road our bikes with much more stuff than needed and had a great time!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV0MgZ-5hMcgbCAfhu9BqNHcyPJe6gmDpokUuG_tM_GeyGDkn-qB-DAULpbM0LBLBKW4I94LsFbG50AyHs-_8D53Tihwb7Ejf8rJCgtb-4_6n5aQYIbA4VP-2ElFCKAVUut189LCa1151j/s1600/Jackie+and+Raven.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV0MgZ-5hMcgbCAfhu9BqNHcyPJe6gmDpokUuG_tM_GeyGDkn-qB-DAULpbM0LBLBKW4I94LsFbG50AyHs-_8D53Tihwb7Ejf8rJCgtb-4_6n5aQYIbA4VP-2ElFCKAVUut189LCa1151j/s320/Jackie+and+Raven.jpg" width="238" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Thanks for coming to visit Jackie!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Other than that I have been working on school stuff because this week I have finals...UGH!! Thankfully I get next week off which means, sewing and maybe some knitting...I know..I'm SUPER exciting these days!! haha...There will be a lot of working out and possibly Zumba...yes Ash, that's directed at you :). We can also get some drinks and whatnot to celebrate all of our hardwork!! Freddie and the boys are working hard at home, playing frisbee, eating lots of junk food and playing video games...they miss me for sure!! Alright...enough playing on the blog and time to get back to homework and laughing at ridiculous things that only we laugh at :) I'm off for now! Don't forget to WEAR SUNSCREEN...at least 30 SPF (believe me we talked and TALKED about that in my A&P class...30 spf is the least amount that you want to wear!!)</div><br />

I thought she may have just had a cold, and little did I know that she was on the verge of the plague! I have to get my window fixed (again), a new water pump and timing belt, and was going to get the third backup light fixed but found out I can do that myself. So, after the minor heart attack I had when the service woman told me with a sly smile on her face how much damage BB's sickness was going to do to my bank account I was happy to know that she would be ok after tomorrow. Well...she better be ok after tomorrow because I can't keep this up! So, Dizzle was nice enough to come get me and bring me back to my house, even though it was somewhat early (it's ok, she likes to get up at 4 AM because she thinks it's fun :) ), I find out that my tv, internet and phone are all out!!! Ok, so the tv and phone aren't that big of a deal because I had planned on working on school stuff since I am going to FL for the weekend to hang out with one of my besties (who I am super excited to see!!)...but the internet being out was not a good thing! What was I to do? I called the people who deal with our bundle package and they said, Oh no problem...there's a guy out there fixing it now and it should be back up in an hour or two...AN HOUR OR TWO!? That's a lot of time for a girl who has no car, and no entertainment at home!! Oh how wrong I was...Freddie bought me this sweet little table to set all of my sewing stuff up so I wouldn't continue to take over the dining room table, so I went into our game room, sat at my sewing table and set everything up...I threaded my machine, got all of my supplies out so I could cut my fabric that I bought last week and got to it!! I bought some fabric to make some new pillow cases for the pillows on our couch...they needed some sprucing...I cut everything and started to pin the fabric...things were going great, until I realized that I was going to be sewing a zipper to the bottom of these pillow cases...Now this may not seem like a big deal right? WRONG!! Let me reiterate what I was doing...I was sewing pillow cases (without a pattern) and I wanted to sew a zipper to the bottom of my non-patterned pillow cases (I've NEVER sewn a zipper on ANYTHING before!!) So this was kind of a big deal...I ended up sewing the zipper on just fine (kind of) and the pillow actually came out really cute (I don't know why I wouldn't think it would turn out cute...) After finishing the pillow it was 230...still no internet, phone or tv... So I decided to make another pillow case (I do plan on having 4 of them since I have 4 decorative pillows on our couches). The next one came out even better!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFlXA_i7p4ZkQAs71Q5JnBE1Bq46_GFp2G4vt7bPHB3_CmhHjvUBJIPBdmnFzR6Iiq8u8jjbnPe-ixoPLuou7J1y0MYU0QsqDwE2GB7lQwWB0JLX94OrwrSOoHJ_lzi6wArjMqlrkMdj6h/s1600/Pillow+cases.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFlXA_i7p4ZkQAs71Q5JnBE1Bq46_GFp2G4vt7bPHB3_CmhHjvUBJIPBdmnFzR6Iiq8u8jjbnPe-ixoPLuou7J1y0MYU0QsqDwE2GB7lQwWB0JLX94OrwrSOoHJ_lzi6wArjMqlrkMdj6h/s320/Pillow+cases.jpg" style="cursor: move;" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The one on the left was the first one I did and the one on the right was my second one!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

It all started 5 years ago when my mom got me a sewing machine for Christmas...I gave her the best thank you smile I could, but was thinking to myself 'what was she thinking'?! Since that Christmas day the sewing machine sat in the box it came in. Freddie and I pulled it out once to try and fix something on his uniform, and we couldn't even figure out how to thread the dang thing!! So back in the box it went, and moved from place to place with us. For whatever reason, and I think I'm going to blame pinterest (if you haven't checked that site out by the way you probably should because it's super amazing/addicting!), I have been feeling uber crafty lately. I kept seeing all of these items that I felt I could recreate, but would have to learn how to sew first. So thanks to one of the other SERE wives here who went to this cute little sewing/fabric boutique to learn to sew, I got the guts to sign up for a sewing class there as well. I was seriously nervous for my first class! One I was going to do something COMPLETELY out of my element and two I was going at it alone. Of course Freddie supported my new interest, and really wanted me to go so I could teach him what I have learned and fix his uniforms. So I took a leap of faith and went to my first class! Thankfully, it is a small class...6 ladies including myself, a cute little instructor who has a crazy passion for sewing, quilting and baking (and she likes to bring treats!) and 6 different sewing machines!! I was super excited to learn that I have a very good sewing machine (THANKS MOM!), and that it is very easy to use. So the first day of my 2 day class was learning about the sewing machine...the names of everything on it, which is very helpful, so now I can look at things online to sew and know what they're talking about! We also got to practice sewing...on paper! We practiced sewing straight lines, curved lines, pivoting in the corners and back stitching!! The second day I was a little nervous about because we were actually going to sew something, and not just use paper!! We got there, got our sewing machines set up, and out came the fabric!! We were given three pieces of precut fabric to make a pillow case! It was a struggle at first because I pinned the fabric wrong, which put me behind everyone else...so that was frustrating...plus, I like to take my time because I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to certain things...but once I caught up things were all good...Needless to say, we all finished our projects and were super excited!! I had actually sewn and made my very own pillow case!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgemk9wgeyPNSIK4XgJM4W7y-laJ_hl5TVJLTKSZry5sCwf_grZNwTe1vzgiPjU2JM7LHnCkfBbZrlLkVNdBACVCORHiON3mpHgQ1TNCm0VL57CN7fdzb7AiKlEvbVBM95UDMCzt19wCbFg/s1600/pillow+case.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><strike><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgemk9wgeyPNSIK4XgJM4W7y-laJ_hl5TVJLTKSZry5sCwf_grZNwTe1vzgiPjU2JM7LHnCkfBbZrlLkVNdBACVCORHiON3mpHgQ1TNCm0VL57CN7fdzb7AiKlEvbVBM95UDMCzt19wCbFg/s320/pillow+case.jpg" width="320" /></strike></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here's the finished product!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I can't believe that I did that!! So I was super pumped, and decided to sign up for another class! The next class is tomorrow, and we're learning how to read patterns and make clothing! I got to pick out the fabric that I wanted and everything! I'll post pictures of what I make at the end of the week...So, over the weekend I started looking at fabric online and found 2 projects that I want to take on!! A quilt and a jelly pillow!! The thing is though that I already got fabric to make some new pillow covers for the pillows on our couch! So I need to make those first, and then start on the other things...and all while doing my school stuff!! I <strike>think</strike> know I'm in trouble...I'm way to excited/obsessed with this new sewing ability!! That's all for me right now...I've been crafting other things, but I've gone on and on already about sewing I think that's enough about crafts for now!! I'm off to work on some school stuff, and then pillow cases!! Until next time y'all!! </div><br />

I am sooo happy and proud of him!! He worked very hard, and it paid off! I know that he is extremely relieved and happy as well...so I think I'm going to take my handsome SSgt out for a celebratory lunch, and then maybe we'll have a little BBQ tomorrow for him and Dittmer...Yep, Joe made it also. Two friends that have gone through so much together made Staff at the same time! It's cute :)<br />
<br />
In other news...I've started taking sewing lessons!! I don't know where or why this little craftiness has come about, but I love it!! What's funny is I'm not the only one...Freddie is super pumped that I will soon be able to fix things on his uniforms...*sigh*...not sure I'm excited about that one, but whatever helps him I will do :). I think my first project outside of class is going to be a quilt...I've already been looking at fabrics and patterns that I want to attempt! We're sewing a pillow case tonight, and then next week we'll be sewing an outfit for a little one, and learning to read patterns :)! Uber excited...but this little crafty one is off! I've got lots to do before a busy afternoon of errand running and sewing class! Good day to all dear friends!Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-22645709900031579432011-08-01T12:48:00.000-04:002011-08-01T12:48:24.288-04:00Trucks, drive-ins and stories oh my!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hello All! So sorry for the delay in writing...much has been going on, and I've been procrastinating on writing here and on my homework...so guess which had to be done first?! Now that the stinky homework is out of the way for a little bit I've got time to let you all in on what's been going on over here with the Kighties...First off, everyone knows I drive a Bug...it's the cutest little thing and I just couldn't bare to part with it yet (we've been talking about upgrading to a 4 door vehicle for our 4legged children and possibly a 2 legged child in the future). So I told the hubs that I wanted to keep Black Betty, and he said ok. But since his truck was racking up the miles I told him maybe we should 'look' into getting him a new truck, which he ran with!! He was so excited, and began looking for trucks immediately!! When he finally found what he was looking for we made a trip to FL and the deal hashing began...After much debate we got the numbers we wanted and bought ourselves a truck!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOPu3w1uI1ojt4hpOB69BGjQ-nVmucvonNT7lujUGXIrtIKFdM8k9q6FbV3x0QQeuALEGRPVh76x_pWaj9h6VW0JyNhH78lCu20vP2qf7YVanFgoZYDp852lgUCVRdjb30x3CgnD4UzsoV/s1600/263209_686612601391_71004791_35464365_602956_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOPu3w1uI1ojt4hpOB69BGjQ-nVmucvonNT7lujUGXIrtIKFdM8k9q6FbV3x0QQeuALEGRPVh76x_pWaj9h6VW0JyNhH78lCu20vP2qf7YVanFgoZYDp852lgUCVRdjb30x3CgnD4UzsoV/s320/263209_686612601391_71004791_35464365_602956_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here's the new guy now...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Freddie's in love. I was super excited because we got a new truck that has a huge back seat...get your minds out of the gutter...I was happy because the boys would have more room in the back on road trips!! Except for the fact that Freddie does NOT want to put the boys in the truck yet...he says he doesn't want to ruin the newness...I get it. I understand. But now I will be driving my sweet little Black Betty back to TX with the boys in it...which means I need to purchase a roof rack along with new tires because where am I going to put my stuff when I have to TWO 120 lb. pups in the back!? So that's the news with that...will update more later on this subject!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">On to other fun news!! Freddie took me on a date to a drive-in movie!! I was sooo excited that we found one down here! It wasn't too far away, and it was featuring a double showing!! So we went to see Captain America and Super 8. Captain America was good...just make sure if you ever go to a drive-in and you turn your car off and leave your radio on to turn your car on every 30 minutes to make sure the battery doesn't die...because mine did :) Thankfully, the people that run the place have a battery recharger thing...they came over and attached it and Black Betty started right up!! We watched the rest of the movie in the comfort of the AC. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4768wbylt-39vk3AdvpCFawqvbyqa6KRdKph-6eq1FrmltSxYJVd71tDGOARzXWJR6rkjYbR32mD4pXVtzjMGK1wnpv6uq6BNJYdgegs622aOyuS9c2tZwdZDeKIszGVgBuUqxmQeC2Uk/s1600/IMG_1619.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4768wbylt-39vk3AdvpCFawqvbyqa6KRdKph-6eq1FrmltSxYJVd71tDGOARzXWJR6rkjYbR32mD4pXVtzjMGK1wnpv6uq6BNJYdgegs622aOyuS9c2tZwdZDeKIszGVgBuUqxmQeC2Uk/s320/IMG_1619.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This was our view from the car.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo8BXJiVhaPP23Ksh0YK-qdsyuG9Eehk9kRla5kaZLK8x_QM4lqZj4ijsmT0mEl9JAcyYLItqUaEyRGC5w5smJdupGrS-RU0e4_xfHi0Fvt9lPjAxn1hFFIXKggCUABzqGvVYDT0mlkxo_/s1600/IMG_1618.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo8BXJiVhaPP23Ksh0YK-qdsyuG9Eehk9kRla5kaZLK8x_QM4lqZj4ijsmT0mEl9JAcyYLItqUaEyRGC5w5smJdupGrS-RU0e4_xfHi0Fvt9lPjAxn1hFFIXKggCUABzqGvVYDT0mlkxo_/s320/IMG_1618.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I could see the other screen in my mirror!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGbvPJBoAgeZRK2_8iBboCabsmzXWfmL7Az0Oi0OTE9lXFZ0LbgIXZMaMbvk4Fhm-AQkyVocdeUYM1pgiH8tPLQo_efc4p4Q0qce1l-0iIfff-ALr3dDi63AiKYIxRbZAE9IjeAfg8Yx0-/s1600/IMG_1628.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGbvPJBoAgeZRK2_8iBboCabsmzXWfmL7Az0Oi0OTE9lXFZ0LbgIXZMaMbvk4Fhm-AQkyVocdeUYM1pgiH8tPLQo_efc4p4Q0qce1l-0iIfff-ALr3dDi63AiKYIxRbZAE9IjeAfg8Yx0-/s320/IMG_1628.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Fun snacks for the movies!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq_hytODEec2ON72N7LZf08Pf8Kg3v3kIzEv_uXqlA1igJcorqY59qef231CbAZrUcY4XFaajImr_7oIFGdLxRbBdlN2pwlwPOpBeZ2zUJz0FmHWFj9EwNXaQ506JwZaGoUQDwlA6YzmBn/s1600/IMG_1632.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq_hytODEec2ON72N7LZf08Pf8Kg3v3kIzEv_uXqlA1igJcorqY59qef231CbAZrUcY4XFaajImr_7oIFGdLxRbBdlN2pwlwPOpBeZ2zUJz0FmHWFj9EwNXaQ506JwZaGoUQDwlA6YzmBn/s320/IMG_1632.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I like to make goofy faces when I take pictures...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyduF8pQhvYUusgh_NbC8nRsZjD-Pt6QNBTfuy4gG8onGYgJz971SoMXKe44rFcFh4_dsRU0qcFzx3UVDSW6UzKY1y8RWGl7M_ckKAeRV3g5oNFJtBby2QI4u5_Ow_uPICXjMTsZVuVfMn/s1600/IMG_1633.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyduF8pQhvYUusgh_NbC8nRsZjD-Pt6QNBTfuy4gG8onGYgJz971SoMXKe44rFcFh4_dsRU0qcFzx3UVDSW6UzKY1y8RWGl7M_ckKAeRV3g5oNFJtBby2QI4u5_Ow_uPICXjMTsZVuVfMn/s320/IMG_1633.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Freddie likes to make fun of me making faces :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgKurG0P1nyRW088Pz5nXYGs2gv9Tf38jxNnvWkzi3fOWh5TYPDfLgtiSfGHlEXWfAyWJMvDjb-D6177-mZbZeGAfeG-HhxWCPSLGU0ikDPCDa8N88DmfGHwg4IZHA1h6IxFsYGnMXBKTB/s1600/IMG_1635.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgKurG0P1nyRW088Pz5nXYGs2gv9Tf38jxNnvWkzi3fOWh5TYPDfLgtiSfGHlEXWfAyWJMvDjb-D6177-mZbZeGAfeG-HhxWCPSLGU0ikDPCDa8N88DmfGHwg4IZHA1h6IxFsYGnMXBKTB/s320/IMG_1635.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I love him for taking me on fun dates!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So after all that was over we were going through some of the stuff we took out of the old truck...and I found an old picture of Freddie and I. But here it is...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Once there was this girl and this boy who were in love.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The girl was sad because she had to leave the boy to go to school.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And the boy was sad because he had to leave to go to the military.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">But the boy and the girl saw each other as much as they could. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And then it was time for the boy to leave.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And the girl cried.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">But the girl knew that if she tried hard, she would finish school in two years.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So the girl worked hard and went to visit the boy every time she could.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And then the girl graduated.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And the boy was happy.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And the boy asked the girl if she would be his forever.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And the girl said yes.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And they lived happily ever after...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">With their two dogs and 4 wheelers in the snow.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Haha! So some of that story has come true so far...just not in the order I wrote it in. It's funny when you find something that you wrote so long ago...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Anyway...good day to all! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

(I liked this movie very much by the way. Others may have their opinions, so I think that I am fully entitled to mine!) It was very bittersweet for me...I was super excited to see the movie, but was sad because it was the last installment of the series. But, I guess all good things must come to an end...boo to whoever came up with that phrase! In other news we will most likely be living here for at least another year...boo to that too! Oh well though...I guess once I finish my Bachelors, which will be at the end of December, then I can go on to get my Masters!!! When I told Freddie about my great idea he looked at me with a 'you've got to be kidding me' look...to which I responded nope!! I think I'm going to finally get my personal trainer's certification, and work on my Masters while we're stuck here for a little longer. That way I'll be able to work and do school stuff at the same time( what a concept eh?!)! I think it's a great idea because whenever we do move then hopefully I'll be COMPLETELY done with school, and will be able to get a fantabulous job doing something I love...that's the dream anyway. Oh...I forgot to tell y'all what I plan on getting my Masters in...well Nutrition and Wellness!! I know some of you are smiling right now because you all know how much I LOVE sweets, but there is nothing that says you can't have a sweet tooth and be a nutritionist! Right?! So that is what's going on right now...Next week there will be more homeworking and working out...I'm totally pumped about classes this next week too! Ash and I went to pilates and zumba the other night and got a crazy good workout in! So that's the plan...homework and workout...yep. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So many of my friends have kids...well here's one of my "kids". I love him more than anyone could know, and I know that seems silly because he's a dog, but he's mine. Diesel is family and I love him to death. He has kept me company through Freddie's many TDY's and deployments, gave me kisses when I've cried, and laid with me when I've been sick. He's one of my best friends, and my life would be empty without him in it. Happy Birthday Diesel Mac! I love you!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
This was the dictionary's definition of frustration...and that is exactly how I am feeling...I have been on the phone/chat with my STUPID school since 9 AM!! I have been trying to get them to lift a hold off of my account that should have been lifted a couple of days ago, but wasn't because THEY messed something up...so what happens?! I pay for their stupid mistakes!! I don't think I've ever been so frustrated with a school before in my life!! I've done everything and talked to everyone that I could, and yet somehow no one can do ANYTHING! I just have to sit and wait...annoying. So while I'm sitting and waiting on my uber annoying school I'm going to do some reading...<br />
<br />
I'm reading The Shack right now...for those of you who haven't read it it's pretty good. I just got through the most sad and heart wrenching part of the book...well at least what I know of so far...and I'm still into it. So off I go to read some more since I won't be reading any textbooks any time soon...ugh!<br />
<br />
Hope you're all having a better day than me!!Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-63693666786257124742011-07-06T13:45:00.000-04:002011-07-06T13:45:48.074-04:00Post 4thSo I hope EVERYONE had a wonderful 4th of July!! I can't believe our country is 235 years old! Pretty crazy...I wonder what the founding fathers would think of our country now...hmmm<br />
<br />
Anyway, Freddie and I drove to FL with the boys for the weekend and had a wonderful time!! We went to the beach, rode bikes down to a fun little bar by the beach (even though it was only a mile and a half, and dark out, it was super hot and humid!) and went to watch fireworks on the beach!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt4ZsasusgjaIpYB69Bben636e02zLv5w3R3oDPhOMbrxMXEQ5CbkalgSrrPBQAzJsDvqpsFWhcSv4H74pAahLsomRFNkBCu9whjOhRsqPQ0V-41RwOnJ7ZblSYl1cInk1IocbJeogtcjz/s1600/Raven+and+Freddie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt4ZsasusgjaIpYB69Bben636e02zLv5w3R3oDPhOMbrxMXEQ5CbkalgSrrPBQAzJsDvqpsFWhcSv4H74pAahLsomRFNkBCu9whjOhRsqPQ0V-41RwOnJ7ZblSYl1cInk1IocbJeogtcjz/s320/Raven+and+Freddie.jpg" width="238" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I tried to take this pic with my iphone while at the beach...tried to get fireworks in the background, but it didn't work out that way!! Oh well!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It was tons of fun though to be able to sit by the water, hear the waves crash, and watch fireworks with my main squeeze! I love it when he's home for holidays...it makes them even more special!! People outside the military tend to take holidays...even every day that their spouse can come home from his/her 9-5 job for granted...I am super happy just for the fact that he GETS to be home on a holiday, and every other regular day...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Other than that we just hung out for the weekend and relaxed...OH!! I forgot to mention that after a very stressful month last month...Freddie is now a Jump Master!! I would let him check my chute any day ;) I cannot express how proud I am of him for this huge accomplishment!! He worked so hard, and he made it happen!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">In other news- I have started school...again...four classes this semester (aka 8 weeks), four classes next semester (sept-oct.) and then two classes in nov-dec and I'm DONE!! It's craziness...I will finally have a degree after Christmas...Although it seems that my school is doing everything possible to make it IMPOSSIBLE for me to finish...they throw every obstacle at me that they can think of I swear...I feel as though I am continually fighting them just to finish...It's alright though...I'm a fighter...and I don't like to lose :) Other than that not much else going on! I hope everyone has a fantastic day!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Muito Amor.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

For the first time in my LOOOOONNNNGGGG collegiate career I have achieved ALL A's in my classes!! I realize that this may seem like a small victory to some, but this is HUGE! Super excited if you can not already tell...and if this makes me a bit of a nerd, so be it! Any who...in other news Freddie and I have gone to see two movies in the past two days...Transformers and Cars! Transformers was stinkin amazing!! Sooo much better than the second one, and probably just as good as the first one! Cars was great too! Mator was his lovable self as always, and it was just a good sweet movie. The kids in the theater loved it! There were tons of oooo's and ahhhh's, giggles and clapping from the tiny peanut gallery that surrounded the few adults that were in the movie. Just hearing the kids laugh made the movie that much better. Other than that there have been errand runs, frisbee throwing (for Guns of course), and mindless driving through this amazing town of Valdosta. Tomorrow we're off to Florida for the 4th! Not sure how much I'll be writing until after the holiday, so HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY EVERYONE!! Have a cracking and popping (get it? like the sounds fireworks make? hehe) good time with the family, friends and fireworks!!Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-45886623967034590902011-06-28T22:03:00.000-04:002011-06-28T22:03:34.887-04:00Busy Bee!So much has been going on since I last posted...I drove to my mom's last week to make a trip to HOTlanta with her for work. Just getting to her house was an adventure in itself!! I drove my car...with the dogs...in the back of the car!! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRAVTx2v92YA3sMPAd2lNM4efsCtOBJ9i4vX43dPDbl1juFpmnR82pATrtB45EDoKTbCV66Xpp_GflUXQAHNPmLLM1Ub-InYUHvJUDTNp76ftO2FFgfqh6WS2mYWzxTrdDeFvoeV_2rlhyphenhyphen/s1600/IMG_1239.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRAVTx2v92YA3sMPAd2lNM4efsCtOBJ9i4vX43dPDbl1juFpmnR82pATrtB45EDoKTbCV66Xpp_GflUXQAHNPmLLM1Ub-InYUHvJUDTNp76ftO2FFgfqh6WS2mYWzxTrdDeFvoeV_2rlhyphenhyphen/s320/IMG_1239.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Imagine these two in the back of a VW Beetle!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">No worries...I dropped down the backseat, and took out the thing separating the backseat from the trunk, so they had a ton of room in the back!! Once we got to Florida I dropped the boys off with their trainer, who was super excited and happy to have them back staying with her...then made it to my mom's house to go have dinner. We left on Wednesday to go to Hotlanta, stopped in Montgomery to have dinner with my 2nd grandpa on my mom's side (super good to see his face), and finally made it into Hotlanta. The next day we went to breakfast, and my mom was off to her meeting which gave me time to work on school stuff. Once she was done we.went.SHOPPING!!! I was super excited because we don't live around a REAL mall here...so I was very happy to be able to visit my beloved Nordies for the first time in a long time...Well after we went shopping we found out that we had to drive to Macon, GA (home to Warner Robins AFB air force friends) to drop something off for my mom's work, and boy am I glad that Freddie did not get stationed there! That place really is in the middle of nowhere!! We had a great time though, and laughed at just about everything!! Anywho, after that we drove back to FL. We were both tired, but I knew that I was going to have to get up early the next day to go get my boys and head back to GA...again. So I went home, and then was able to blow off some steam with Sadler family and friends!! We had a wonderful time! I finished classes on Sunday, and have the rest of the week off...it's my summer vaca!! So what have I been doing on this summer vaca you ask?? Well let me tell you...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">1. Cleaned out my desk area/ rearranged all the books that I own</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">2. Cleaned out my safe and got rid of tons!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">3. Went to see Midnight in Paris ( It was amazing!! My recommendation...go see it! But it is Woody Allen, so you need to understand that from the start.)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">4. Registered for classes/ got into a fight with financial aid & one of my professors!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And it's just Tuesday!! I know that doesn't seem like much, but it takes much longer than one would think...Anyway, I will update y'all later!! Have a wonderful evening!! </div>Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606890960655954235.post-42146740346875275292011-06-17T14:41:00.000-04:002011-06-17T14:41:56.261-04:00HUBS!!So yesterday was a wonderful day because I celebrated 4 years of marriage to a wonderful man!!<br />

Freddie called me bright and early to tell me how much he loved me and couldn't be happier...which is what everyone wants to hear from their loved one!! It was a wonderful day that my mom helped me celebrate by going to dinner and the bookstore! Tons of fun, and I'm so thankful to everyone for all the Happy Anniversaries!! I couldn't ask for a better husband and best friend...he makes me laugh, listens when I need to complain, and let's me cry over silly things like where we'll be moving to next. He is amazing and I love him to death! I cannot believe that it has already been 4 years...and 7 years of actually being together!! Craziness...and I love every second of it. Thanks for being mine babe. You're the best. Eu te amo!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Well one of my friends teaches a spin class which is a crazy, hard, super awesome workout. I have attended spin classes before, but I normally prefer cardio and strength training classes. Well one of my friends has decided to go on hiatus, and go to Cali for a month before he PCS's which has forced me to look for new classes other than my normal cardio class. So I tell my friend that I will attempt to go to her spin class, which is at 7 AM on Wednesdays...I failed last week. But this week I have my mom, who thinks it is normal to get up before the sun rises, here to be my alarm clock that will not turn off. We made it to class today right before a squadron decided to attend the same class. I was thankful that 1. she saved us two bikes...up in the front no less and 2. once she started class she turned the lights off, but had this cute strobe/disco ball light on that helped brighten my spirits and make me feel like I was riding into the 60's and 70's...although the music was definitely NOT of those era's. Needless to say I kept up, but it.was.hard. I think I may go back...not sure that I will make it a weekly thing, but if I go every Wednesday, and some other days that it is offered I may actually be able to ride long distances outside of a spin room. I love trying new workouts, and I am always grateful when I have people to try them with me. So we shall see what the future holds as far as my venture out to different styles of workout, but I do love a good burn. Guess that is why I will have my degree in December in Sports and Health Science...until then spin away!!Raven Kighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12763683653662600387noreply@blogger.com0
